Rex led the acquisition of Hotel Ella, as a contrarian investment, during Covid. The long-term plan is to create an iconic asset in Austin TX, with a $150m development going 3x vertical in the back while maintaining the beauty of the front. It will be louvre-esque, with a classical front building and a modern, technologized new building in the back. The future asset will include: a high-end restaurant, wine bar, cigar lounge, 5x more event space, and an elite club catering to cross-sectional leadership in academia, tech, and politics.
